Our Ministry
In 1998, God impressed upon the heart of an assistant pastor and deputy sheriff in Fort Myers, Florida, the great need for help in a deaf ministry in Peru, South America. Joe Kotvas answered God’s call, and for over twenty-five years, the Kotvas family has been leading Efata Ministries, a special ministry focused on reaching the deaf and hearing in Lima, Peru, and beyond.

July – August 2025: Healing, Harvest, & Hope
In a few more months, we will be going home. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” This has been my “season” and “time” for physical recovery and healing.
May – June 2025: Strengthened for the Work Ahead
We continue our medical furlough, rejoicing in the many encouraging developments in both my health and Jessica’s. Below are some details. We are constantly reminded of the goodness of God and His care for His servants.
